My family had decided to host the Christmas party. I was not very happy about that because I hate when people touch my stuff. When my cousin came over we went downstairs. Later that night our parents told us to go outside. “Do you want to play soccer?”
“I guess,” My cousin responded. We grabbed the soccer ball and went outside and were immediately met by an ice-cold gust of wind. While we were playing soccer, Obi, our neighbor's dog, was outside on his leash. We walked over to him and went to pet him, when he jumped and the leash broke and he charged at me and almost knocked me over.
“We should go get my baseball bats and break some ice!”
“Ok! He responded. We ran to get the baseball bats and came back and immediately started trying to break the ice. After a while, we had many big pieces of ice that my cousin was running on. We then had the idea to try to hit little pieces of ice as far as we could.
“
"Watch this!” My cousin yelled. I saw him throw the chunk of ice
that was about the size of my fist up into the air. It spun in circles and I saw my cousin start his swing and then the bat started to slip out of his hand as he swung as hard as he could. The chunk of ice fell to the ground and the bat spun in circles across the ice into the water. “Sorry!” My cousin mumbled as he looked at the ground.
“It's fine!” I responded, “We can get it!” We ran with the current and found the place where we would grab it. “Go get a rake please!”
“Ok,” My cousin yelled as he ran towards our house, wanting to get the bat back. He came back with the rake and the bat was almost there! I ran to the spot where we could meet it and pulled it in with the rake. “That was close!” My cousin breathed.
“Yeah,” I replied. We walked back over to the part of the pond where we were hitting the ice in the first place and kept hitting the ice chunks. “We’re lucky we got that back,”
“If we didn’t, would you be mad?” Tyson asked.
“No, Probably not,” I replied.
“I won’t swing baseball bats with gloves on again,” Tyson promised.
“Ok. Want to go inside?”
“Sure!” Tyson replied.
