- This is the exposition of the story because it shows how Mathilde was upset that she was living in a low class home and wasn´t grateful for what she already had.

- This scene where shes like what do you want me to do with the invitation is the conflict because she doesn´t care about how thoughtful her husband was being to even mange to get her the invitation.
- Falling Action
- This is rising action because it shows how she was able to get everything she wanted and go to the party happily.
- Resolution
- This part of the story is the climax because its when the most conflict occurs and the problem is presented in the story.
- This is the falling action because this is when Mathilde stays in debt for a very long time and is miserable.
- Here Mathilde finally admits that she had lost her necklace and Madame Forestier tells her that it wasnt even that important and only worth 400 franks at most. Mathilde was very sad because she had spent the rest of her life in debt.
