- I'm Zacharias Janssen and I invented the first primitive microscope for cell discovery in the future. I was able to develop this invention due to my knowledge of the family lineage of lens manufacturers.
- I'm Robert Hooke and while looking at a cork, I observed box-shaped structures, which I called cells as they reminded me of the cells, or rooms, in monasteries. My discovery led to the development of the classical cell theory.
- I'm Antony Van Leeuwenhoek and I was the first person to observe bacteria and protozoa, which I called animalcules
- We're Barthelemy Dumortier and Robert Remak, and we observed and confirmed reproduction by cell division of pre-existing cells in plants and animal cells.
- We're Matthias Schleiden and Theodor Schwann. We studied tissues and proposed the unified cell theory which stated that: all living things are composed of one or more cells and the cell is the basic unit of life.
- I'm Rudolf Virchow and my contribution in the cell theory is that I stated that just as animals are unable to arise without previously existing animals, cells are unable to arise without previously existing cells.
