- Mr. White and his son Herbert White are playing chess while Mrs. White watches
- Climax
- Sergeant Major Morris arrives and sits in the parlour and talks about the Monkeys paw. Then he throws it in the fire and Mr. White grabs it. Once Sergeant Major Morris leaves Mr.White wishes for 200 pounds.
- Falling Action
- Mrs. and Mr. White are talking when a knock is heard from the door Mrs. White answers the door and leads the stranger to the dinning room where he tells them that Herbert is dead and they get 200 pounds as compensation.
- Resolution
- Mr. and Mrs. White are going to bed and Mrs. white asks Mr. White to wish Herbert was alive again. Then a few hours later there is a Knock at the door and Mrs. White thinks its Herbert so she runs to let him in.
- Mrs. White has to grab a chair to unlock the door while Mr. White is trying to find the Monkeys paw to wish whatever is at the door to disappear. Then he finds it.
- Mr. white wishes his final wish for the thing at the door to be gone. Then the knocking stops and Mrs. White opens the door to see that there is nothing there so she runs to Mr. White crying.
