- Act 1, Scene 2, 20-24
- O, valiant cousin! worthy gentlemen!

- I heard the owl scream, and the crickets cry. Did you not speak?
- Act 3, Scene 1, 134-137
- Fleance his son, that keeps him compny, whose absence is no less material to me that his father's, must embrace the fate of that dark hour.
- The sergeant speaks of Macbeth in a way that describes his gruesome, violent style on the battlefield. He uses imagery to describe the brutal way in which Macbeth kills the enemy.
- Act 4, Scene 2, 69-74
- Whither should I fly? I have done no harm. But I remember now I am in this earthly world; where to do harm is often laudable, to do good sometime accounted dangerous folly: why then, alas, to say I have done no harm?
- After Macbeth kills Duncan, he goes to Lady Macbeth and tells her, asking her if she heard the noise. She says she heard nothing but the sounds of nature, meaning Duncan was killed in cold blood. Macbeth killed him in his sleep.
- Act 5, Scene 7, 43-45
- Macbeth asks that not only banquo be killed, but an innocent child that had done nothing. He does violent things for no reason at this point, like ordering that children be killed.
- Act 5, Scene 7, 84,85
- [re-enter Macduff, with Macbeth's head]
- She asks herself where she should go and that she hasn't done any harm so she shouldn't worry. She then claims that doing bad is praiseworthy and doing good is dangerous stupidity so she should' claim anything. She uses rhetorical devices to show her distress.
- Macduff is able to kill Macbeth because he was not born from a woman. Killing Macbeth and being the only one who could kill him because of the prophecy made it more gruesome.
- Despair thy charm, and let the angel whom thou still hast served tell thee, Macduff was from his mother's womb untimely ripped!
- Not only did Macduff kill Macbeth, but he also cut off his head in order to truly show it. He really wanted to make it known that he had killed Macbeth.
- Hail, King! for so thou art.
