  • Hello sir ! I am Aniket andI came from behalf of Soil conservation NGO, and I have been impressed by the approach of farmers towards soil, Please can you tell me about your methods for soil conservation
  • Oh! Thank you so muchi will gladly tell you our methods of soil conservation
  • Yes! You are correct.
  • One of the methods I use is crop rotation, It is growing different crops on the same piece of land year after year in a planned, recurring sequence. This may include alternating row crop production
  • Crop rotation helps them improve the earth structure with diverse root systems, to mitigate pest establishments, and to add nitrogen to the land
  • What happens in that method?
  • This is themethod of growing cropsyear-round without changing the topography of the soilby tilling or contouring. This technique increases the amount of water that penetrates the soil and can increase the organic matter of the soil, which leadsto larger yields.
  • Another method is 'No-Til farming'
  • Can you Tell me about Strip farming?
  • Strip croppingis a method offarmingwhich involves cultivating a field partitioned into long, narrow strips which are alternated in acrop rotationsystem. It is used when a slope is too steep or when there is no alternative method of preventingsoil erosion.
  • Yes i also do Conservation Tillage it builds up crop residues on the soil surface to minimize the impact of water and wind erosion.
  • And what aboutConservation Tillage?
  • Your welcome! I hope you got to know something new about soil conservation methods. Please make sure to come back
  • Thank you for all this wonderful experience I am superbly amazed by the approach towards soil conservation by farmers here!
