  • EXPOSITION
  • CONFLICT
  • RISING ACTION
  • This story is about a boy named Spencer. He has a real gift with football, and everyone notices. He lives with his single mom and his little brother Dylan. The coach from Beverly Hills saw him one night at his game and wanted him on his team. At first Spencer was reluctant but he knew this was his only chance to get out of the life he had. Spencer grew up around so much violence he didn’t think he would have a way out. As soon as he took this offer his life changed drastically
  • CLIMAX
  • The conflict is that although Spencer was really good the other guys on the team were jealous. He was already having a tough time trying to fit in and everyone thought he was a bad guy. They tried to do everything in their power to stop him from succeeding. Some of the teammates would make slick comments at him just because they knew he couldn’t do anything. If he even fought once he’d be gone.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • He finally felt like he was a part of the team just because he got invited to laylas party. On the night of the party Jordan and Asher the two popular football players got Spencer to a party and got him drunk knowing they had practice the next day. They tried to make it seem like Spencer did bad stuff when he was the one who tried to tell them not to drink. The next day the football team gets on the field and Spencer is off his game. Spencer gets really upset and quits the teams because he felt like Coach Baker was just trying to use him.
  • RESOLUTION
  • After Spencer quits the team he goes back home and talks to one of his best friends Coop. She tells him that he needs to rethink his decision about quitting the team. She says he has a real shot at becoming professional so he listens and joins the team again. Coach baker accepts him back and he also understands why he acts the way he does. Coach felt like he had to help because he saw something in Spencer that he had when he was younger.
  • Spencer has his first game and he comes up with a strategy to help them win. He gets subbed in for offense even though that isn’t his forte. The strategy works and they end up winning the game. Somehow someone finds out that Spencer isn’t really eligible to play and goes to the chancellor. The only way this could be fixed is if Spencer moved in with Coach Baker.
  • Spencer tells him mom that he’d have to move to Beverly Hills to stay on the football team and attend the school still. His mom wasn’t too thrilled because she lived in Crenshaw which was far from Beverly. She knew that this was the best option for him, so she okayed him to move in with Coach Baker. This was Spencer’s chance to start fresh and really make his dreams come true.
