  • Are you ready for today's Magnetic fields presentation?
  • Yes, of course I am. I'm very prepared
  • Hi, my name is Lily and this is my partner is Jade.
  • Today we are going to present about magnetic fields.
  • Soft and hard magnetic materials. The examples of these are magnetic materials such as iron that magnetise easily but readily lose their magnetism are said to br soft. Those such as steel that are harder to magnetise than iron but stay magnetised are hard.
  • First, we are going to start with the properties. There are 4 types of properties we are going to start with magnetic materials. Magnet attracts strongly to ferro-magnets. Next Magnetic Poles, magnetic poles are placed in a magnet to which magnetic materials like iron fillings are attracted. After that, we have north and south poles. If a magnet is supported so that it can swing in a horizontal plane it comes to rest with pole, the north-seeking or N pole, always pointing roughly towards the Earth's north pole. Last we have law of magnetic poles, Opposite poles are attracted to each other, while the same poles repel each other.
  • Here is way to map magnetic field. By placing the plotting compass in adjacent positions in the field. It is possible to map out some magnetic lines of force. Using a plotting compass allows he direction of the field to be identified, with the needle of the compass pointing along the field lines from north to south.
  • It's useful to consider that a magnetic field has a direction and to represent the field by lines of force. It has been decided that the direction of the field at any point should be the direction of the force on a N pole.
  • A neutral point of Magnet is a point at which the resultant magnetic field is zero. In general, the neutral point is obtained when a horizontal component of the earth's field is balanced by the produced by magnet.
  • That's it for our presentation, Thank you for listening !
  • What do you think, do we do great?
  • Yes of course we did great, it's very fetch!
