I've had a meeting with the workers. They want a 10% wage increase and they say the employers are not cooperating.
If the employers continue to refuse, workers will stop working and go on strike.
We need to have a meeting with the employers urgently.
Employers must understand that they will have more trouble in their company by not listening to their workers.
Trade Union has meeting with employers
Workers are unhappy and feel unvalued and under appreciated. We will not accept a zero % increase.
We want a 10% wage increase for all employees
We have had a 20% loss of sales and revenue this year. We cannot just give increases when the company hasn't made more money!
We reject the request of 10% wage increase.
Trade Unions Secretary relays employers response back to workers
They have rejected the terms.
Union officials must first speak with the Trade Union committee before making any decisions on how to proceed.
Workers want to strike
We are sick and tired of not being taken seriously. This is our livelihood we are fighting for!
Collective Bargaining: Employees may use unions to negotiate better terms with employers.
Trade Union explains to workers how they can have a legal strike
How do we go about this strike?
Deadlock: Neither of the two parties have accepted each others terms. There has been a failure in the collective bargaining.
CCMA Commissioner, Trade Union Secretary andEmployers have meeting
We cannot give them a 10% increase.
Section 23 of the LRA 66 of 1995 states that any worker has the legal right to strike
We will strike until we are happy!
STRIKE!!
Strike notice: A written notice of the strike needs to be presented to the employer at least 48 hours proper to commencement of said strike.
First we will contact the CCMA to have a meeting with the employers to aid in this dispute. Should that not be successful, we will send out a strike notice. That is a 48 hour notice period of our intent to strike. This will allow us to do this legally.
A CCMA commissioner gets involved to try and settle the dispute. All parties are present at this conciliation meeting. Since there is still no consensus, the CCMA will issue a certificate stating that the dispute remains unresolved.
Good day, I am the CCMA commissioner and I hope to try mitigate the dispute.
