  • Employers prepare for strike
  • We must be cautious during this strike. Let's close the company during this period to maintain safety of all staff members.
  • We must prepare for a strike to take place in 48 hours.
  • I will contact security and law enforcement to notify them of the strike and be on standby - as a precaution.
  • Trade Union Representative meets with workers as strike commences

  • A certificate of an unresolved dispute was issued by the CCMA and a strike notice was sent from the Trade Union. Strike notice: A written notice of the strike needs to be presented to the employer at least 48 hours prior to commencement of said strike.
  • 3rd day of strikes
  • Employers are not allowed to dismiss workers as this is now a protected legal strike. Any dismissal because of a legal strike would constitute as an automatic unfair dismissal.
  • Employers meet with Trade Union Representative
  • Employees are allowed to participate in the legal protected strike, however any misconduct, such as violence, will result in disciplinary action.
  • Trade Union Representative gives feedback to workers
  • YES! We accept. We are so happy this is finally resolved. Thank you!
  • A strike has no definite timeline. It will end once the deadlock in negotiations is resolved.
  • Employers have a proposal that may see the strike cease. However it is the duty of the Union representative to first inform the union members and ask if they accept or decline to latest terms.
  • Thank you - I will let them know!
  • We have reevaluated our numbers and are able to provide a 7% wage increase to workers.
  • The dispute has been resolved and the deadlock in wage negotiations is no longer. Both parties have come to a consensus and the strike ends.
  • Employers have come back with a counter offer of 7% wage increase - do you accept?
