- Before we show you the student data, we will begin by explaining to you what a MAP test is. So MAP testing is a program that we are using as a school to get the information that we need to help your child learn.
- Let's start with Reading; based on the data collected, Boone's reading is likely to be; a) below standards on the NWEA generic linking study, b) not on track on the ACT college readiness, and c) not on track on the SAT.

- Ok thank you for all the update, so what can I do to help him at home?
- For Reading, provide a variety of reading materials for Boone at home. Try to read aloud to Boone on a daily basis. If you could make a visit to a local library during the weekend and allow Boone to explore books that interest him that will also help or you could play word games like Scrabble with Boone when you have time.
- We have some positive reinforcement strategies that you could try with him at home.

- For Language Usage, you can gift Boone with a journal or diary so he can practice writing, create a quiet study environment for Boone where he can focus and be away from TV and gadgets while reading or writing, speak more English during family conversations and select a word of the week and encourage Boone to use that word throughout the week.

- Here in school, some grouping strategies favourable for Boone will be used in the classroom. We will give a timeline of 3 months to observe him. During that observation time we will be communicating with you regularly via email, you can also do the same if you have any concerns, just send us an email.
