Storyboard Text

  • What are you talking about! I am sitting next to Mikayla during the school play.
  • That's not true! Mikayla asked me this morning.
  • Wait a minute, maybe Mikayla asked both of us. I can't believe she would do that!
  • Hey everyone, what are you guys talking about? I can’t wait for the school play.
  • I can’t believe it, is it true you asked both of us to sit next to you during the school performance?
  • Oh no! I’m so sorry, I must have accidentally asked you both if u wanted to sit next me.
  • I can’t believe this. I thought we were best friends. You have to choose. It's either me or Emma, pick now!
  • Alright I have had it! We have to talk somewhere private. Follow me.
  • Step 1: Establish Rules
  • Okay, now that we are in a quiet space, we can discuss the situation. Let's make sure that we are listening to each other’s opinions and ensuring we maintain a sensible and calm conversation.
  • 2. Identify the Conflict
  • Look, I am really sorry. You both asked me on different days, so I must have forgotten. It was pathetic of me, and I acted without thinking. I promise I have learnt my lesson for the future.
  • I am so upset. I really thought we were best friends. This makes me question our relationship, and I truly feel betrayed.
  • I was really looking forward to sitting next to you. This news was very hurtful, and I have lost a lot of trust in you.
  • I understand. It was completely wrong of me, and I really should've known better.
  • Step 3. Offer Solutions
  • Wait, I’v got an idea, why don’t both of you sit next to me. I will sit in the middle, and each of you will sit on either side of me. That way, we can all sit next to each other while watching the play, and no one gets left behind.
  • Step 4. Make an Agreement
  • That's a great idea, and... I am really sorry. I jumped to conclusions too fast, and never once offered you the opportunity to explain yourself.
  • Step 5. Review the Agreement
  • I am sorry too. Next time, I know to hear others out, and not judge others straight away, without understanding the reason behind the situation.
  • That's alright. So, all of us will meet in the theatre after lunch. Oh, there goes the bell, can't wait! See you two soon.
  • Can't wait!
