  • The estates general took place in Versailles on may 5,1789.King Louis XVI was confronted by the commoners about the tax burden.The commoners were unsuccessful with reaching a agreement.This was the beginning of the french revolutionThis event also lead to rage by the commoners

  • The tennis court oath took place on jun 20,1789This was the last attempt made by the people of Paris to persuade King Louis XVI to abandon his current policy and attempt a more emphatic way to govern.This even was just the start of the revolution.They met at a tennis court due to being locked out of the original meeting place in Versailles

  • On July 14, 1789 a prison also known as the Bastille was attacked by an angry mob.This attack signaled the start of the revolution.The Bastille was first created to protect Paris during the Hundred Years´ war but was now being used by king Louis.The revolutionaries stormed the Bastille for gun powder.

  • On august 26, 1789 the french national constituent Assembly issued the declaration of the rights of man and the citizen.This declaration defined individual and collective rights at the time of the french revolution.This declaration was good because it granted civil rights to some commoners.

  • On October 5th 1789, the women of Paris met at Paris to demand bread.The people at city hall refused and the women then marched 12 miles to Versailles. they marched the 12 miles to confront the royal family.King Louis then promised that he would send grain to Paris

  • On June 20th, 1791 during the french revolution, the french royals ended up trying to flee the country.They tried to flee because they didn't want to face the retribution from the revolution.They were discovered by a town official when trying to escape to Austria dressed as peasants.He had hoped that other peasants outside of Paris would help him but it turns out they were also struggling.This is a huge event because it eventually led to both Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette's death.
