- Jing-Mei's mother lost everything in china so she came to the United States to have a better life.

- Jing-mei's mother saw someone that looked like her daughter on the TV and told her that she could be like her famous .
- Falling action
- This is when the old guy is giving jing-mei piano lessons for her performace that she is going to do.The only thing that is wrong is that the old guy that is helping jing-mei cant hear so he is going of vibrations and doesn't know that she is doing it bad on purpose
- resolution
- I tried to play this one as well.It had a lighter melody but with the same flowing rhythm and turned out to be quite easy.Pleading Child was shorter but slower,Perfectly Contended was longer but faster.And after I had played them both a few times, I realized they were two halves of the same song.
- jing-mei was dissapointed that she was not able to do what her mom wanted to do and she embarrassed herself there.
- Jing-mei looked at herself in the mirror and did no see herself playing the piano and doing everything that her mother wanted her to do.She just wanted to do what she wanted to do.
- Jig-mei at the end she realized that when she was younger and her mother was making her do piano all that time she was just making her play 2 parts of the same song and she did not realize that until she was older.
