- We are the delegates of 12 of the colonies . We are at the First Continental Congress. Colonists, continue boycotting British goods. Colonial Militias, prepare for war!

- I am Benjamin Franklin. I came up with the idea of uniting the colonies under a national congress.

- I am Thomas Paine, the author of Common Sense. Its a 47-page pamphlet that was distributed in Philadelphia in January 1776. I also argued that citizens, not kings or queens, should make laws. This was a bold idea.
