- growing up, i was reminded a lot of the privilege i had, mainly because i was pretty
- Then men, much, much older then anything near an appropriate age from me, would make inappropriate comments or stares on the street, but it started being such a normal thing I over came it. Then it started happening with older men I knew.
- This sounds like such a minimal problem, not even so, it seems like a head start in life
- As I grew older though I began to notice things about myself which I didn’t like what so ever, but I just ignored it, for the most part
- It made me feel horrible, but it didn’t do anything to change how i see myself . What did was the boys who were my age. When I was younger, around the ages of 10-12 my male classmates would obsess over girls body’s ridiculing them if they were flat from a young age or pointing out things you already didn’t like about yourself
- As I grew though, boys changed from shaming me, to over sexualizing me, even some of my closest friends. For a moment it felt like it was a step up from before, now they didny see me as something so bad. Then I noticed it wasn’t complimenting, just objectifying.
