- That will be $10,000. Now, are you sure you want to go?
- Rising Action
- Hello! I am Travis. Your Safari leader. Before we step out of the time machine, we need to go over regulations that you need to follow as we began the hunt.
- In order for us to not affect the future, we must stay on the given path that is constructed for hunting. If anyone leaves the path, there could be disastrous consequences! Along with me, I have my Safari assistant, Lesperance
- Rising Action
- Why, why! It could reach up and grab the moon. It can’t be killed. We were fools to come. This is impossible! Get me out of here!
- Sh! He hasn’t seen us yet. Turn around, if you have to! Don’t run. Hide in the Machine.
- The setting is at the Time Safari, Inc. in the year 2055.Eckels had paid $10K to travel back in time to hunt Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- Climax
- Travis explains the dangers of going back in time in order to not change the future. Travis also tells the hunters that they must stay on the path made for them.
- Falling Action
- Get up! You've nearly killed us. That ruins us! We’ll forfeit thousands of dollars of insurance. Who knowswhat he’s done to Time, to History! The bullets! The bullets can’t be left behind. They don’t belong in the Past; they mightchange anything. Here’s my knife. Dig them out!
- Eckeles, Travis and the other hunters spot the T-Rex and begin the hunt.
- Resolution
- Breaking News...Deutscher has won the Presidential Election!
- Can't we! Can't we take it back, can't we make it alive again! Can't we start over again! Can't we-
- Eckels gets scared at the size of the T-Rex and runs back to the time machine, when he steps off the path.
- After the T-Rex had been killed, Eckels is told to collect the bullets in the dead dinosaur. The hunters then head backhome to find that things have changed.
- I’ll pay anything. A hundredthousand dollars! Anything!
- Travis notices that Eckels had stepped off the path by his muddy boots, not knowing yet that a butterfly was also killed as the result. The hunters return to the future and Eckels realizes that by killing a butterfly that fell from his muddy boots, it had changed the world. Travis is furious and kills Eckels for his actions.
