  • Your welfare. Rise. Walk with me.
  • I am the Ghost of Christmas Past.
  • Why are you here?
  • My hand
  • I am mortal still. I cannot pass through air.
  • And Robinson Crusoe sailed around the island, and he thought that he had escaped the island, and the parrot said, the prrot said . . .
  • Robinson Crusoe, where you been? Awk! Robinson Crusoe, where you been?
  • Scrooge is in his bedroom, the hour is struck by a street clock and the first spirit appears. The spirit is dressed to look like the little girl's doll.
  • Why poor?
  • Poor child. Poor child.
  • Scrooge takes the hand of the spirit.
  • Dear brother i've come to bring you home, home for good and ever.
  • When Scrooge takes the hand of the spirit, the dolls bell rings softly. Scrooge remembers a scene from his past. Scrooge sees a young boy playing with a teddy bear and is reading to it.
  • "Fancy . . . fancy. . . It's his way, a child's way to . . . to lose being alone in . . . in dreams, dreams . . . Never matter If they are all nonsense, yes, nonsense. But he'll be all right, grow out of it. yes. Yes, he did outgrow it, the nonsense. Became a man and . . . yes, successful . . . rich! Never matter . . . never matter."
  • Fan, runs in and goes to Scrooge.
