- The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak, takes place in Nazi Germany in a small town called Molching. Lisel Meminger moves there after her little brother passed away and her mother has to leave. She moved in with Rosa and Hans Huberman a peculiar pair.

- Liesel begins to like her new life in Molching. She made friends with Rudy Steiner a boy who she enjoyed playing football with. But her life changed massively. A German Jew was seeking for help from the nazis and Rosa and Hans Huberman took him in. His name was max vandenburgh, who Liesel grew fond of

- their plan to hide Max was going well. But one day whilst Rosa Hans and Liesel were out in town Hans had a terrible idea. There was a parade of Jews on their way to Dachau concentration camp Hans gave a piece of bread to one of the Jews that looked ill.They were whipped as a punishment and Hans was sent to the army

- During his time in the army, Hans breaks his legs and returns home. Max decided to leave as the air raids were rising. Not long after Hans had returned another air raid happened, killing everyone, besides Liesel who was writing her book in the basement. The next day Liesel saw the body’s of her loved ones and gave Rudy Steiner the kiss that he had longed for.
- After the bombing, Liesel was taken in by Ilsa Hermann, a woman who Liesel stole countless books from, and her Husband. Alex Steiner, who just returned from war, he comes home to find his family dead. Liesel spends a lot of time with him after he reopens his tailor shop.
- Many years later Liesel passed away in Sydney, Australia she lived lived a long and fulfilling life. She embraced deaths arms as he took her. Death gave Liesel the book that she’d been writing the night of the bombing. A death interacted with a human for the first time. He told her that he was haunted by humans
