- Interesting. It appears you have pneumonia. There is no vaccine for your age that helps fight pneumonia, but there is an antibiotic I can give you that will help to get rid of it.
- Ok. If I got pneumonia in the first place, does that mean my nonspecific immune response didn't work? Does that mean my B-cells didn't work?! I don't understand how my specific immune response wasn't triggered by the antigen.
- Not exactly, but don't worry. The antibiotic will help you recover. Recovery from pneumonia will actually improve your defense against further infections by seeding the lungs with immune cells called lung resident memory T-cells.
