In this story Kurt Vonnegut wanted to make everyone equal in society. He was trying to eliminate competition and beauty standards to make sure everyone felt loved. He created this story with some interesting scenes such as masking the ballerinas to make sure one wasn't prettier than the other, weighing people down, putting radios in intelligent people's ears to disrupt their thoughts. All of this was done to make sure people felt good about who they were and no one was better than them.
