The French Revolution was a period of time from 1789-1799 in France when the people overthrew the monarchy and took over the government.

Factors that led to the French Revolution include social inequality, economic hardship, the rise in the cost of bread, National assembly, and the Tennis Court Oath. 

The  meeting of the Estates-General in 1789 was a general assembly representing the French Estates.

In 1789, the members of the Third Estate took the Tennis Court Oath, voting not to separate and reassemble wherever necessary until the constitution of the kingdom is established.

In 1789, a state prison on the east side of Paris, known as the Bastille, was attacked by an angry and aggressive mob. They eventually took control over the whole building.

The Great Fear in 1789, was a period of panic and riot by peasents and others.
