Storyboard Text

  • Excuse me, ma’am, breastfeeding is a better way to provide for your child. You shouldn’t be a mother if you didn't know that.
  • Due to my health, I am not able to breastfeed naturally. My baby is very healthy and happy and It is rude of you to think that without understanding my situation and the other mothers who do the same.
  • It just isn’t the natural way for you to be feeding ur baby powder and things from a warehouse in my opinion…
  • I can get what you’re saying, but that is a generalizing statement that doesn’t account for things that seem “unnatural,” Which is why what you’re saying sounds a lot like a Naturalistic Fallacy. It’s the assumption that just because something is natural in our nature, it is deemed moral ad law based on personal agenda.
  • Naturalistic Fallacy? That sounds kind of familiar, but I still don’t get why we don’t trust the things we think are “natural, doesn’t that mean we should trust it no matter what?
  • No actually! For example, some animals have human-like tendencies and are very intelligent. The difference is that animals kill their prey in order to survive. Since this is seen as “natural behavior,” does that mean we can kill in order to survive as well?
  • No… I guess that doesn’t make very much sense. But why does it still feel morally wrong to go against this “Naturalistic Fallacy?”
  • This is because Naturalistic Fallacy uses what society deemed as good reasoning and giving the impression that it is based on facts and logic when it isn’t. This is why it is harmful to say the things you did to other mothers.
  • Wow, I had my kids forever ago so I guess I made assumptions because it’s what I grew up hearing!
  • See! Once we difiate from our own assumptions and opinions based on others, we can really make the world less judgemental and informative for each other!
  • That helped me understand why what I said was ignorant of me, thank you.
  • It’s okay! I understand that we are prone to certain ideas and logic, just remember what a Naturalistic Fallacy is and why “natural doesn’t always mean good.”
