- EXPOSITION: May 2006. The character Percy is introduced he is the Narrator and the main character Percy is 12 years old and lives in New York. His best friend Grover is a Satyr and also his guardian. Percy's favorite teacher Mr.Brunner is introduced and takes Percy and his class on a field trip at a museum and there tells Percy that he is a Demigod. Percy is then Told that he is in danger and needs to leave and go to Camp Half-Blood.
- INCITING INCIDENT:A Minotaur Chases Percy, Grover, and his mother into Camp Half-Blood. The minotaur catches Percy's mom and kills her with its fists and she dissolved in front of Percy and she was sent to Hades in the underworld. Percy then kills the minotaur with its own horn and then Percy takes that horn into camp and shows it to everyone and is then treated like a king. Percy meets Luke, (Annabeth's crush) Luke gives Percy flying shoes and a sheild.
- RISING ACTION: Percy, Annabeth, and Grover are given a mission to find Zueses Lightning Bolt and need to give it to him by the Winter solstice. Percy finds out that Luke is the one who stole the lightning bolt and finds the Bolt in the shield that Luke gave him and Zeus sees this and becomes angry. Luke leaves and joins the monsters and then tells Percy he is trying to bring Kronos (Titan) back to life.
- CLIMAX: Luke and Percy fight for the Lightning Bolt and also save Percy's mom from the underworld. Kronos is brought to life. Percy beats Luke then saves his mom and Kronos then stops everyone and Percy then fights Kronos and wins.
- FALLING ACTION: Percy needs to reach Olympus in time for the Winter solstice and is a little late and can't seem to find a way to get there in time. he only has a couple of days left and it would take a month to get to Olympus.
- RESOLUTION: Percy finds a Pegasus named Jack and is transported to Olympus just in time and gives Zeus his Lightning Bolt and all the Gods give him rewards and Percy, Annabeth, and Grover are recognized as heros.
