- Kevin sees a child drowning,he realizes he must use his knowledge of trigonometry to save it.
- since kevin knew that the baby was 18 feet away and that their was a angle of 73 degrees, he needed to find how far he would have to dive . using cosine theorem or COH, kevin set up the equitation 18/x=cos73then he divided 18 by cos73. his dive would have to be 61.5 feet or 61 feet and 6 inches

- however kevin needed to know what angle he would jump, sincehe knew that the pool was 18 ft away and that he has to jump 5ft up, he needed to find what angle he jumps at. so he used inverse tangent theorem and set up the equation. x=sin-1 (5/18). he then concluded he would have to jump at an angle of 16.1 degrees.

- but there was another problem, the baby is gone. since he knew that the pool was 18 ft away and that the angle from his head to the pool was now 62 degrees ,he needed to find the depth of the pool. so kevin set up the equation x/18=tan 62. then he multiplied 18 by tan 62 to find that the pool is 33.8 feet deep.
