Excuse me Miss, I would like to know what we can learn from Geography?
Well sure Emily! In Geography we have a wide range of objectives. We can divide it into General Learning Objectives and Specific Learning Objectives.
Firstly, In General Learning Outcomes, we learn about the world around us, which covers a wide range of topics from Science, Agriculture, Social Studies and Business.Specifically, You will have an understanding of place to place relations. You will learn to explain, compare, contrast, interpret and relate Geographical terms to yourself and the world around us
OK, I understand, This will help me to understand many processes in the real world
Then, we have Skills that you will learn. Generally, you will learn problem-solving skills that are relatable to the real world.Specifically, you will solve problems, become someone to change situations, criticize ideas, design plans for an ever-changing world.
oh, ok Miss, so everything I do, I will see the world through a Geography filter!
You will also learn to have a positive mind frame for the planet.Specifically, you will develop a new way of thinking about the world and people on it. You will demonstrate your view of the Earth
Hmmm...This is what you meant by becoming a model citizen!
I will become a guardian of the planet! Just like the Avengers!
Finally, you will learn about values. You will learn about your duty to the Earth.Specifically, you will learn about values such as sustainability and diversity. You will now become a responsible citizen who will teach others these values.
Or like Captain Planet!
I understand now Miss, When I study Geography, I will become a model citizen, who cares for the environment. I will also be able to make wise every-day decisions, such as when choosing land to build on, or the location of a business. Everything we do, has Geography incorporated into it. Just as how with COVID-19, they map the cases around the world. This is awesome!
