  • While Steph Curry was doing his usual shoot around, he realized that he was shooting the ball at a 43 degree angle like always and he was at his normal distance of 15 feet from the basket, but he was missing. He figured that the baskets height was off and wanted to see how high up the basket was.

  • After using the equation tan(43) x 15, Steph found out that the basket was 14 feet instead of the normal 10. Now Steph will have to get used to the tall basket and see at what angle he will have to shoot the ball.

  • Later that day. Steph decided to go back and practice. He took a couple of steps back to see if he could shoot it better than before. After using the equation cos-1 (17/19), Steph found out that he had to shoot the ball at a 29.5' angle.

  • Next day at practice, the Warriors had a big game the next day so Steph had to get his shot down. After shooting on that tall rim, his shot on the normal 10 foot rim is off.

  • To get his perfect shot for the Warriors big game the next day, Steph used the equation 10/sin(43) to find his perfect shooting form and he determined that he had to shoot the ball 14.7 ft towards the basket.
