- Olivia was new to California and was ordering food when a man named Max came up to her and introduce himself and they talked about food, work, and life. She ran her own law firm and he was in politics.
- Olivia was telling her co- worker Allie about the guy she met the other day. She told Allie the mans name and Allie jumped to her feet. "That is the mayor!" Olivia soon heard a knock and it was a delivery man giving her a cake and it was from Max. He asked her on a date. After that they privately dated for months.
- They soon decided to go public. That seemed like a bad idea on Olivia's side. Pictures were being released of couple. They went to parties together every weekend.
- He said something that was a little mean at one of the parties that led Olivia to break up with Max
- He tried everything he could just to get her back by sending her cakes and flowers. When he takes her to Hawaii and they watch a couple getting married.
- Finally he proposed to Olivia in Hawaii near the water and Olivia said yes to his proposal.
