- Rainsford and Whitney are skilled hunters that are on their way to hunt in the Amazon. They are on the Caribbean sea and they discuss the rumors of Ship-Trap Island alongside being determined to hunt jaguars.
- Sanger Rainsford
- Whitney
- Over there on the right, there's an island that is known for causing some sort of dreaded curiosity towards sailors. Can you see it?
- While Whitney head to bed, Rainsford was on the yacht and heard three gun shots. He was determined to figure out where the gun shots was coming from however, he knocks his pipe out of his hand and in an attempt to grab it, he falls in the water.
- That noise sounded like gunshots! But where is it coming from....
- I have to see where it's coming from but it's so dark that I could hardly see anything!
- 2 minutes later....
- AHHHHHHH!!!BAD IDEA!
- Ivan
- Rainsford reaches Ship-Trap Island and observed a palatial chateau where Ivan points a revolver at his chest. Then, General Zaroff came to greet Rainsford and ordered Ivan to put down his pistol.
- Don't be scared, I am not a robber, I fell off ayacht . My name is Sanger Rainsford and I am from New York City.
- I'm stranded on Ship-Trap Island. Someone please help me!
- 1 minute later....
- G. Zaroff
- Welcome Mr. Sanger Rainsford! It is a very great pleasure and honor to have thecelebrated hunter in my home.
- Zaroff discusses hunting with Rainsford and his old strategy bored him so he needed to invent a new animal to hunt. Zaroff stated that he wanted the ideal animal that has courage, cunning, and above all, is able to reason. Rainsford then realized that humans are the only ones that can reason therefore, general Zaroff hunts humans.
- But no animal can reason. Wait.... are you talking about humans?
- I needed the perfect animal that has courage, cunning, and is able to reason.
- If you choose not to play, then you can "play" with Ivan.
- Why is he smiling and turning back if he found me?
- Those fake lights suggest a channel where razor-sharp rocks are. There is Electricity here, we try to be civilized here.
- Let's play the hunting game. I will give you hunting supplies and a three hour head start. If you elude me for three days, you win the game. If I find you, you lose.
- Zaroff explains the fake lights trap to Rainsford and suggest that they play the hunting game. Rainsford is forced to play the hunting game and leaves the chateau with his supplies. He decided to hide in a tree only to see Zaroff finding him and smiling at him then walk away like nothing happened. Rainsford then realized that Zaroff was saving him for another day's sport!
- Wait what? What if I don't want to play?
- Civilized? And yet you kill humans.
- Raisnford makes a malay man-catcher and it injures Zaroff. Rainsford observed how Zaroff did not fall or drop his revolver. Zaroff compliments Rainsford on his creative trap.
- Rainsford! Wherever you are, I have to congratulate you. Not many men know how to create a Malay mancatcher. I got a small injury so I will go get it dressed but---I will be back!
- Well, well, well... The cat is coming to play with the mouse. Keep your nerves Rainsford, keep it!
- Phewww! He got injured in my trap! However, he still did not fall or drop his pistol! Ughhh!
