  • Yes it does, the complaint details the systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists on behalf of few victims such as Ahmed Abu Hussein, Yaser Murtaja, Muath Amarneh and Nedal Eshtayeh who were killed or maimed by Israeli snipers while covering demonstrations in Gaza. All were wearing clearly marked PRESS vests at the time they were shot. The complaint also details the targeting of media and bombing of the Al-Shorouk and Al-Jawhara Towersin Gaza City in May 2021 including the cases of Alam News, Al Hayat Newspapers, Mayadeen Media, Al Bawaba 24 and others.
  • It’s good to hear that they took actions for their journalist justice. I’m curious to know the complain that they gave to the ICC’s Prosecutor’s Office (OPT). Does the complaint include all the journalist that became victims?
  • I agree with you Mia, journalists engaged in professional missions in areas of armed conflict are considered civilians. As such, they may not be targeted. They are protected by their civilian status, on the condition that they refrain from any activity that might jeopardize their civilian status and character.
  • It is such a tragedy for the journalist that became victims of this. Covering a war is becoming more and more dangerous for journalist especially the war between Palestine and Israel. Even so, the journalist is still a civilians so they have the right to be protected.
  • I hope they are more sensitive in this issue so that the media is not brutally killed immediately.
  • That's right Mia, everyone should be sensitive to this issue and not underestimate this matter.
  • It’s getting late so I’ll get going now. Bye Deena, I pray for you and your safety during your work at Palestine.
  • Thanks and goodbye Mia, I wish you well so let’s meet again soon.
