Storyboard Text

  • A lot of people head to the town square for the lottery.
  • Setting: In a village where there's only about 300 people. Based in the 1900s. At the town square.
  • When they all arrive at the town square for the lottery. Mr. Hutchinson draws the black spot so his family has to draw in the lottery.
  • Tessie Hutchinson draws the black spot in the second round. This means that she has won the lottery, though the prize is not good. The prize is getting stoned to death.
  • Tessie shouted "It's not fair!" After Bill forced the paper from Tessie and told the crowd that she got the black mark. Then the people of the town through stones at her.
  • "It's not fair!"
  • People in the village continued to throw stones at Tessie. Tessie got stoned to death.
  • Irony: When Tessie gets stoned to death after winning the lottery.
  • Theme of The Lottery is that sometimes people will follow traditions . For example, the old black box was never changed because it was a tradition.
