- April Corrigan was a Junior at springside Academy in Virginia and was very known because she was a tennis player. April's father worked for a airline, her mother was a author of children's books, and She has a little brother Bram who was in third grade. In May on a Tuesday afternoon April's dad had gone to a trial. When April was in her computer class her grandmother Lorelei picked her up to take her home but that was very strange for Aprils grandma to do.

- Aprils uncle Max told them that her father had been shot at but the person who shot at him had missed and was never caught. April was very confused because know she now knows that her father is a FBI and he is testifying against his boss in a drug smuggling case . Max took April and her family to a hotel to keep safe for a few days but those few days turned into months. When April and her family were at the hotel they had a security guard Jim who made sure they were safe.
- Home for now
- A hitman Mike Vamp tried breaking into their hotel room one day. Jim was able to keep them safe but got killed in the process. April and her family met up with her father and were relocated to a small town in Florida. During that process they had to change their names so April Corrigan is now Valerie Weber.

- April doesn't like it in Florida and she cant play tennis at her new school. She wants to go back home to her old school and friends so she calls her grandma to see if she could stay with her but her grandma thinks its a bad idea for April to stay with her. April still arrives to her grandmas house and when she got there she found out her grandma had been attacked by people trying to kill her family. Aprils grandma knew it would be safer for the both of them to go back to Florida.
- April and her grandma finally arrive to Aprils new house in Florida and sees a car in a ditch. April hurrys and looks in the car and the house but her family is nowhere to be found. A car pulls into the driveway but she realises it's not her family. A guy got out of the car and it was Mike Vamp.
- April and her grandma rushed inside but Mike Vamp still managed to capture them and lock them into a closet but April manages to escape and heads to the backyard. Mike Vamp catches her outside but April runs to the car in the driveway and gets in. April has to get out because he is threatening her. April then hits him over the head with a tennis racket and he falls into the ditch. April ends up finding out that her family was at the hospital and after they reunite they knew they would have to find somewhere else to live but April is okay with it this time around.
