- Photosynthesis by plants, take the carbondixoide out of the air and into the plant. It is used for energy in the plant
- Plants including the carbon in them, are consumed by animals. Both plants and animal die. As they are buried, and decompose they become fossil fuels. These fossil fuels build up in deposits below the ground. All are made of carbon.
- Fossil fuels are removed from the ground. Combustion occurs when factories use the fuels or cars use the fuels.
- As combustion occurs, the carbon dioxide is released into the air. As it released it is diffusion occurs and carbon spreads throughout the atmosphere.
- Combustion is not the only thing putting carbon into the atmosphere. Cellular respiration also releases carbon into the atmosphere. So animals, like this cow and humans are all adding to the carbon diffusing into the atmosphere.
- Then the carbon cycle continues, with photosynthesis.
