  • Meet the Family
  • Once upon a time there lived the Quadrilateral family. There were three kids in the family. Kite, Trapezoid and Parallelogram. Kite, Trap and Para all had four sides like their parents, but they looked different as siblings always do.
  • Kite, Trap and Para
  • Trap has only one pair of parallel lines. The parallel lines are not the same length.
  • Kite has two pairs of equal-length adjacent (next to each other) sides. Kite does not have any parallel lines.
  • Para has sides that are equal in length and parallel.
  • Meet Para's Family

  • When Para grew up, she had twochildren of her own, Rhombus and Rectangle.
  • A Family Pet
  • One day, Rhombus and Rectangle wanted a pet. One that would become part of their family. “I want a triangle!”exclaimed Rhombus. “I want a circle!” shouted Rectangle. “Ok,” mom said. “No arguing! Let’s look for a pet that you’ll both like.”
  • Pet Found!
  • They looked around the pet shop. Then, they spotted it. A square!It had all right angles, just like Rectangle. It had all equal-length sides like Rhombus. It fit perfectly into the Parallelogram's family!
  • Rhombus has 4 parallel sides of that are all the same length.
  • Rectangle has opposite sides that are parallel and the same length. Rectangle also has four 90 degree interior angles.
