  • God called Abraham and gave him a remarkable promise that his family would grow into a great nation, and through him, all the families on the planet would be blessed. Abraham's progeny would outnumber the stars in the sky. but Abraham's wife Sarah never ber any children; it seemed like a strange promise, but Abraham trusted God, making a Covenant That God would continue to renew.
  • Polytheism is the belief in multiple gods. Abraham lived in a polytheistic environment where people worshiped a variety of gods. Abraham was puzzled by the various gods' mystery. He began to understand that there was one God who was greater than all other gods. He made the decision to be committed to that God alone. 
  • Abraham's wife gave birth to  Isaac. Isaac married his wife Rebekah and a son named Jacob, whom God later gave Israel meaning, " one who has contended with divine and human beings.
  • Jacob had twelve sons altogether, but his favorite was Joseph. Jacob demonstrated this by giving Joseph a long robe. His brother became extremely envious of him. they tried to kill him but decided to sell him as a slave to a merchant on their way to Egypt.However, he was so talented and gained status in Egypt.
  • Years after being sold into, slavery Joseph forgave his brother and invited them to leave Canaan and join him in Egypt. Egypt's pharaohs and the Israelites continued to live prosperously.
