- That's horrible, but why are there children on farms in the first place?
- According to The University of Iowa Labor Center, "an estimated 60% of child labor occurs in agriculture, fishing, hunting and forestry.
- Hmmm, I don't know. Let me check.
- So it seems thatchild labor is most potent in the agricultural sector , but this matter can be resolved by making education mandatory for children under the age of 18.
- Interesting, the article Cargill tries to improve conditions at West Africa’s cocoa farms says that “Government and media reports of kids forced to drop out of school — or worse, abducted and made to work without pay — have dogged the cocoa industry for more than a decade.”
- You're right. And you know what? We're going to do something about it. Come with me!
