Storyboard Text

  • Can you explain the engineering design process? I fell asleep in class..
  • Yes, of course!
  • Okay, so first you need to identify the problem. This means that you need to find the issue you are trying to fix.
  • Why would I need a prototype for the next step?
  • What's next?
  • Next, start imagining. Think about some solutions that might help fix the problem.
  • Make sure to write these ideas down as you might need them for later steps.
  • What do I do after that?
  • Thank you, but is that it? Is that all I need to know?
  • Next, plan. You could draw a blueprint of what you want, and then pick the one that will most likely work.
  • You're welcome. The last step would be optional. Share it to people! That way, others can see your way of thinking!
  • After those steps, you just start creating. Make a prototype of your design because you'll need it for the next step?
  • You need a prototype because you are going to test your creation to see if it solves your issue. If it doesn't, improve it until it does.
