- Coytioto bitten by the scorpion and kino and juana do not have any money for his treatment. so kino try to find a pearl
- Falling action
- when kino found the large pearl, everyone gather around the brush house and kino tells his dream to everyone. the doctor cure coyotito because kino finds the pearl.
- Resolution
- when kino was attaked the second time juana said the pearl is bad luck, then juana sneaks out with the pearl to throw it in the sea but kino catches her and beat her up while going back home. kino and juana agree to leave the house but it is on fire so they hide out.
- when kino and his family leave town they where followed by 3 attackers on horse so juana and coyotito hide on top of a mountain while kino plans to attack the 3 men and kino kills the 3 men and coyotioto dies.
- kino and juan walked back to la paz. when kino has the pearl in his pocket and juana has dead coytioto in her hand. the people where shoked to see them but they pass everyone to sea and kino took out the pearl and throw it in the sea back.
