- Who is the easiest to catch?
- We like to eat meat!
- We like to eat plants.
- Today we are going to talk about different animals and whether they are predators or prey and what their adaptations are.
- I am fast!
- I am sneaky!
- I am camouflaged and strong.
- I alert my friends!
- Predators are animals that hunt and kill other animals for food. These animals are called carnivores.
- I climb up tall trees.
- I run away or fight back!
- I run really fast and stay in big groups.
- I fly away.
- Prey are animals that are hunted by the predators. Many times these animals are herbivores, but could eat meat as well.
- Predators
- Predators have sharp teeth to be able to eat through flesh. They also can have sharp claws so they can attack their prey. They can be fast so they can out run their prey, or be great at hiding and sneaking up on their prey. Smaller predators can have venom and/or be poisonous.
- I am poisonous.
- Prey have many different adaptations like being able to camouflage within their surroundings, being able to climb trees, being able to fly away, being able to warn others, and being able to hide.
- I run and hide.
- Food chains/webs are essential to their existence, Prey and predators are going to do what they have to to survive. It is a continuous cycle with all wildlife.
