  • DENIAL
  • So he might not even have cancer, right? If the experts are in Philly, these local doctors are probably wrong pretty often. And then tomorrow night, you’ll come back, right? And you’ll tell us it was a mistake?
  • ANGER
  • Any supposed father who doesn’t even address his son say, once a day, isn’t even a father, in my opinion.So thanks for being my sperm donor, Pop.
  • BARGAINING 
  • OK, if I don’t eat those, Jeffrey will get better.
  • This shows Steven when he is  in denial. He is saying that Jeffrey probably doesn't even have cancer, and the doctors must be wrong.
  • DEPRESSION
  • Where is your homework.
  • Steven is going through anger and he is taking it out in his journal entry based on his parents. They are not giving him any attention and that is fueling him.
  • ACCEPTANCE
  • Smiley or Frowny Jeff?
  • Jeffrey is making bargains with God in his head that if he does or doesn't do something , then Jeffrey will get better.
  • SUMMARY
  • Steven is experiencing depression and has stopped doing his homework
  • Steven is finally starting to accept that  Jeffrey has cancer and is starting to play games with his brother again.
