Storyboard Text

  • The pesticides are not working because over time as pesticides were used to eliminate fleas, they built up immunity. Through genetic diversity many spcies of fleas have become immune to pesticides. Effecting people and animals all over the world as fleas become one of the number 1 pests in the world.
  • AHHH! Why arent the pestcides working?!?! There going to get me and my pup!
  • Fang like mouth parts to consume dead skin and blood cells
  • With a wingless structure fleas are able to travel more effectivey on 6 long legs
  • Hooks on the end of all 6 legs to grip the skin
  • Microscopic hairs to grip onto skin
  • Oval exterior to burrow more effectively into the skin
  • sclerites on the exterior to grip and mold into their prey.
  • Since a huamsn nervous system is simaler to a fleas the sensory recepters of a fleas (with some exeptions) reflexes is what fleas use the most
  • Mechanorecepters is the primary sensory receptor that a flea could not live without. Without being able to cling onto their prey and manuver their way into their skin. The SA recepters in a flea is what absorbs all the information and turns it into movement or a automatic reflex within the nerve cells and muscles.
