The Ant and the Grasshopper

- Once upon a time in a very far away land there was an ant a grasshopper.
- The Grasshopper loved to sing, he sung every where he could.
- The grasshopper made the most of his life and planned to live it fully and without worry.
- Chirp Chirp
- "There's lots of food in the forest, and I'm sure there will be plenty left when winter comes." "Don't worry about winter ant, come and sing with me instead." "No thanks" said the ant.
- One day the grasshopper saw the ant doing something strange. "What are you doing?" asked the grasshopper. "I'm building up food stores so I don't starve in the winter said the ant. "you should do the same" "That's silly" said the grasshopper.
- Suddenly winter came and all the food in the forest disappeared.
- He looked and he looked and he looked but the grasshopper could not find any food. "What ever should I do" he asked.
- "Hmm" thought the ant, "you should have listened to my earlier warning, I can give you a little food, but I can't give you too much or I'll starve my self" "Thank you for your help ant" said the grasshopper and walked off.
- Starving and desperate and with nowhere else to go the grasshopper came to the home of the ant to ask for help. "Help me ant" he asked "I didn't store up any food for the winter and I have no where else to go"
- After a week, grasshopper was left with only crumbs. Starving, cold, and alone the grasshopper finally gave up, rolled over, and died.
- Had the grasshopper only been more prepared he may have lived to seen another year.
