- The British signed a treaty with the Cherokee in order to prevent the Cherokee from trading with the French . The Cherokee agreed for protection and The British thinking they have the control.

- The peace between the British and the Cherokee lasted 30 years but then was broken after the French and Indian war.
- We should stop the Cherokee their trade and hostage.
- Although the Cherokee favored the British, the British failed to protect them when the French and Indian allies attacked.

- The Cherokee lost a lot of people because of the British who failed and they felt cheated which made them mad. So they took possession of horses belonging to settlers. The British attacked and the Cherokee retaliated.
- The royal governor of South Carolina tried to control the Cherokee by stopping all trade and taking Cherokee peace representatives as hostages. This got them very mad. This led to the Cherokee war.
