- Fair is foul, and foul is fair, Hover through the fog and filthy air
- Act 1, Scene 2
- Go pronounce his present death and with his former title greet Macbeth.
- Act 1, Scene 3
- Come what come may. Time and the hour runs through the roughest day.
- The three witches are planning to meet with Macbeth.
- Act 1, Scene 4
- My worthy Cawdor!
- There has been a battle with Scotland and Irish invaders. King Duncan is told Macbeth and Banquo showed courage and bravery in the battle. He then decides to reward Macbeth with the title 'Thane of Cawdor'.
- Act 1, Scene 5
- The witches tell Macbeth and Banquo about their strange prophecies.
- Act 1, Scene 6&7
- Duncan thanks the two generals profusely for their heroism in battle, and they profess their loyalty and gratitude.
- Lady Macbeth reads Macbeth's letter stating the promotion to become Thane of Cawdor and him meeting the witches.
- King Duncan goes to Macbeth's castle and is welcome by Lady Macbeth.Macbeth leaves the dinner because he is worried about his plan to murder King Duncan.
