Storyboard Text

  • We have many students in our class. For many, English is not their native language, as they are emerging plurilingual students. This is why it is important for me to provide and promote linguistically inclusive feedback for each assignment.
  • Welcome! Bienvenida! My name is Ms. Singiser and I will be your Economics teacher for the semester.
  • Firstly, when giving my students feedback, I want to highlight their strengths and what they did right. Each student has their own assets and it is important to acknowledge them.
  • Wonderful job, on your presentation, Tommy and Kathleen! I love how you thought outside the box and were creative.
  • It's also important to promote student agency and choice in how they are assessed. This includes different modalities for assessment.
  • Next, when it comes to rubrics, I make sure to use positive language that focuses on room for growth rather than criticizing student work.
  • For example, instead of saying ''below standard'' or ''poor'' I will instead use ''this work has opportunities for growth,''
  • supply y demanda
  • le prix augmente
  • Lastly, I make sure my assignments create opportunities and encourage my students to use all of their linguistic repertoire.
