- Short Film Adaptation: Dead Stars
- The life of Alfredo Salazar, Don Julian’s son, is introduced by a scene where he overhears what his only sister, Carmen, and his father are talking about: his prolonged preparation time of the wedding to his fiancé Esperanza which seems to have no progression at all.
- One time, Don Julian decided to go neighbouring, which he don’t usually do, along with Alfredo. They visited Judge Del Valle’s house where he met Julia Salas. The visiting became frequent then eventually, he realized that he have fallen in love with Julia. Here is also where their conversation about having their last time to see each other lies.
- After the procession for the Lady of Sorrows, he caught up with Julia. As he went to Julia, they had a little conversation then suddenly she broke his silence and said ‘congratulations’ for his nearing wedding. There he asked her, "did you ever have to choose between something you wanted to do and something you had to do?".
- Because Julia doesn’t want to interfere with theirrelationship, she went out and said goodbye, leaving Alfredo thinking if the last words have been said. He went home to Esperanza.
- The wedding pushed through. After eight years, Alfredo had to go to Sta. Cruz, Julia’s hometown, to find an elusive woman named Brigada Samuy-a which is important for his defense on the court. He found a reason to visit Julia’s house and there he found her. As he saw her, he realized that his love for Julia was like a dead star; there is no more feelings.
