- Jonas's father works at the Nurturing Center he takes care of baby Thirty-Six he was worried that the baby might not make it to the Naming so he thinks maybe calling the baby by it's name might enhance his nurturing.
- Chapter 2
- I wonder what's number Thirty-six's name if he makes it to the naming he's been worrying me.
- Chapter 3
- Jonas's father brings baby Gabe home with them. Lily and Jonas look at the baby and Lily noticed that the baby has pale eyes like Jonas and she brings it up because everyone else has dark eyes unlike Jonas and Gabe.
- Isn't he cute? Look how tiny he is! And he has funny eyes like yours Jonas!
- I wish father could chastise Lilly.
- Chapter 5
- Jonas had Stirrings for the first time and when you do it's said on the Speaker that you need to report Stirrings so you can get treatment. Even so, Jonas's mother said the treatment is just pills that her and Jonas's father take every morning and now Jonas has to as well.
- It's just the pills. You're ready for the pills, that's all. That's the treatment for Stirrings.
