- Hermia, you must undertake your father's will or the Law of Athens wields you up...
- I have an aunt who lives far from Athens. We shall escape and get married there!
- At the castle of Athens, Egeus rules that Hermia must obey her father and marry demetrius.
- Oh Hermia, teach me your ways. Demetrius loves you but hates me.
- Helena, I frown at him yet he still loves me. It's no fault of mine.
- Theseus, as duke of Athens, upholds the law.
- It's okay, you may fear no more. Tonight, Lysander and I plan to run away into the wood. so Demetrius won't ever see me again.
