  • Before the revolution took place Madeleine's job was to take care of the household and to help with the family. Madeleine didn't have much of a public social life. she had to rely on the men for many things including politics.
  • The Declaration of Rights 
  • Madeleine's family didn't have much money and they didn't have much access to food. All of the crops were drying up because of droughts causing crop failures.
  • The Women's March
  • Madeleine heard news spreading about the meeting of Estates and what took place. She found out that the third estate had formed a national assembly a made an oath.
  • End of King Louis
  • A little after the Tennis court oath took place Madeleine heard about The National Assembly and how they established The Declaration of Rights of man and citizen. Madeleine was excited because it would grant civil rights for people including her.
  • After rumors were spread that the queen was hoarding grain during the food and bread shortages many women including Madeleine stormed the palace of Versailles.
  • Towards the end of the revolution Madeleine joined other at the execution of King Louis XVII. After the king death Napoleon Bonaparte became the consul and put an end to the french monarchy.
