  • STOP TAXING OUR RESOURCES!
  • The proclamation of 1763 was created to keep colonists on the east side of the Appalachian mountains. This was so the British could keep an eye on the colonists. This angered the colonists making them defy the British rules. This land claimed by the french wouldn't allow for American colonists to cross it without British supervision. This was issued by king George on the 7th of October 1763.
  • Boston Massacre
  • The British began to tax general goods such as molasses and sugar. The colonists disagreed with this act so they began to smuggle sugar. This meant that they couldn't just purchase sugar directly from shops. The British did this since they were money hungry since money is the most important thing to countries. The sugar act was passed by the parliament in 1764.
  • Boston Tea Party
  • The British then began to put taxes on stamps. The colonists disagreed with this act as well since mail was their only form of long distance communication. This angered the colonists even more after taxing their sugar as well. The colonists protested by denying the use of paper. This act was passed by the parliament in 1765.

  • After already being against the British for years the colonists finally decided to fight back against the red coat soldiers. They grouped up against about 7 or 8 soldiers and threw snowballs at them. They then began to yell out things such as fire. The redcoats then shot out into the crowd and killed 5. This event happened in 1770
  • The British finally began to place taxes on tea. This led American colonists to dump more than 92,000 pounds of tea into the ocean. Tea is made out of leaves so it's light as well. This made the British furious. This set them behind on tons of their supplies. This even occurred in 1773.
  • The first continental congress affirmed America's loyalty to Great Britain. It also made it so that the British could not tax without representation. This caused an uproar on both ends of the cause. It did calm down the aggressiveness on both ends much more thought. This even occurred in 1774.
